The Seattle Seahawks will get another chance to test the depth of their roster on Saturday when they face the Dallas Cowboys in preseason.

Will the starters play?
If last season's Comeback Player of the Year, Geno Smith, is going to get some reps in with the first-team offense in a live game situation ahead of the regular season, this would seemingly be the most likely fixture in which to give him that opportunity. Most coaches who play their starters in preseason traditionally do so in the second preseason game, so it would be no surprise to see Smith testing his rapport with an increasingly stacked receiver group against a vaunted Dallas defense if only for a series or two.
Settling the secondary
Seattle's defensive backfield has the potential to be one of the best and most versatile in the NFL, yet there are still questions facing the Seahawks' secondary. Michael Jackson and Tre Brown are competing for a starting role at outside corner, while the Seahawks will be eager to see if Coby Bryant can continue to impress at safety with Devon Witherspoon seemingly set to take his previous role as the starting nickel.
3 Players to watch
- RB Zach Charbonnet: Charbonnet played 16 snaps in the Seahawks' preseason and he will likely get the start against the Cowboys with Kenneth Walker III only just back from a groin injury and Kenny McIntosh dealing with a knee issue. The second-round rookie could provide an exciting glimpse of what is to come from a run game that will revolve him and Walker in 2023.
- WR Jake Bobo: The undrafted free agent showed off his ability to create separation with his route-running when he cooked former first-rounder Andrew Booth Jr. for a touchdown versus Minnesota. Another encouraging display could help Bobo secure a spot on a wide receiver depth chart that lacks depth behind the top three of DK Metcalf, Tyler Lockett and Jaxon Smith-Njigba.
- EDGE Derick Hall: Hall played only nine pass-rush snaps against the Vikings but still managed to record a pressure, per Pro Football Focus. The Seahawks are hoping they can have a deeper and more effective edge rotation in 2023 and second-round rookie Hall will be eager to prove he can be an immediate part of it.
