The Seahawks haven't had Kenneth Walker III available since the first day of training camp.
On Saturday, Seattle finally got Walker back on the practice field. The second-year running back had been out of action with a groin injury, but returned in a limited capacity to significantly boost the Seahawks backfield.
"Kenny jumped back out today, got going," head coach Pete Carroll said. "He'll start picking up some reps now, which is great to see."
As well as missing almost all of camp, Walker did not feature in the mock game the Seahawks held at Lumen Field and their preseason opener with the Vikings.
Seattle won't feel much need to rush him back, given Walker is already immersed in the offense following a superb rookie year.
Walker rushed for 1,050 yards and nine touchdowns, finishing second in the Offensive Rookie of the Year voting.
The Seahawks got him some help in the offseason, adding Zach Charbonnet to the backfield with a second-round pick to take some of the load off his shoulders.
Charbonnet has dealt with an injury of his own in camp as he has battled a shoulder issue, but now both he and Walker are back healthy, the Seahawks will now hope they can focus purely on ensuring their one-two punch turns Seattle's backfield into one of the most dynamic and productive in the NFL.
