Latest NFL Draft intel shows Seahawks already have a clear Coby Bryant replacement in mind
The Seahawks are looking to reload on defense in the NFL Draft by replacing safety Coby Bryant with a top prospect.
The Seattle Seahawks are looking to reload this offseason and get right back to the Super Bowl next season. They have had their own losses along the way with Kenneth Walker III, Boye Mafe, Coby Bryant, and others headed elsewhere in free agency, but now it’s time to replace them.
The Seahawks only have four picks to work with in the 2026 NFL Draft, so they have to make sure the nail them all. The team is doing their homework, and it looks like they have a clear replacement for Bryant, and this prospect is a perfect fit.
The Seahawks scheduled a top-30 visit with LSU Safety A.J. Haulcy
The Seahawks have been traveling around the country to watch top prospects in the NFL Draft compete in All-Star games as well as their own Pro Days, but they’re also bringing a select few to their own building for a top-30 visit.
The latest NFL Draft intel shows that the Seahawks have a close eye on Safety A.J. Haulcy, and they’re bringing him in for one of the top-30 visits.
Haulcy could be a clear replacement for Bryant, who was already a young playmaker, and Haulcy is one of the best safeties in the 2026 NFL Draft.
A.J. Haulcy could be the perfect selection for the Seahawks
Haulcy is projected to be drafted in the second round, and he should be the Seahawks’ selection with their No. 64 overall pick. He fits their physicality on defense behind Mike Macdonald, but he also has the range to become a top coverage player for them as well.
At 5-11, 215 pounds, Haulcy is a thumper in the run game, or even on an island out in space. He can line up in the box and also play both safety positions if needed, but thrives as a free safety out deep in coverage. His ability to read and react to plays is what separates him from the others, and his ball production is top-tier as well.
Haulcy had eight interceptions and 12 pass breakups over the last two seasons, and brings a lot of experience with over 2,800 career snaps in college, even though he just turned 22 years old. This is a player the Seahawks could plug right into Bryant’s old role, and watch him thrive for years to come.
Having limited picks to work with can hurt the Seahawks, but landing a player like Haulcy increases their chances of picking up where they left off after winning the Super Bowl.
