2023 is going to be a very important year for the Seattle Seahawks. Despite all the turmoil of the last year, this team is in a position to compete in the short-term, and the expectations are getting high.

In an offense first league, this team’s success is going to be based on that side of the ball if Seattle hopes to clench a very open NFC West.

If the offense is going hum, here are the guys that need to ball out:

Geno Smith

It obviously all starts with the quarterback. Smith was one of the best in the league last year and he needs to pick up where he left off.

With a better line and even better weapons, Smith putting together another great year would be a good way to show the NFL that last season was not a fluke and that this Seahawks team is for real.

Charles Cross

Geno Smith can’t play his game if he is not protected. Cross is a big-time name for the Seahawks that still has a lot of proving to do. If the Seahawks offense is going to live up to its very high potential, Cross has to first live up to his.

Tyler Lockett

It feels like Lockett is the forgotten man in Seattle. Metcalf has the big personality (and frame), Jaxon Smith-Njigba gets attention as the newcomer with untapped potential, and Geno Smith earned Comeback Player of the Year, but at the end of the day Lockett is still WR1.

Lockett’s consistency at the position has been unmatched and his life and ability to dominate should get easier in 2023 as opposing defenses mistakenly key in on the other receivers.

Kenneth Walker

While running backs don’t drive the bus in the modern NFL like they used to, Walker is going to get a mountain of touches in 2023 on an offense that wants to run the ball and him playing at a career high level or even matching his effectiveness from last year would go a long way towards making this offense one of the best in the league.
