Social media buzz is always entertaining during the NFL offseason.

For the Seattle Seahawks, one impending free agent stirred the pot a bit this week with a cryptic post that may confirm a fear for fans of the team.

Tariq Woolen’s post may foreshadow tough decisions ahead of free agency

The defensive back and now Super Bowl champion is entering free agency this offseason as a 28-year-old. He’s always been fairly active on social media, but a recent post has fans wondering about the future of multiple starters along the roster for the Seahawks.

He posted a GIF of a lonely Will Smith walking around an empty house from the show “Fresh Prince of Bel-Air” as he considers leaving the house for good. This feels fairly direct how he feels about his situation entering this offseason, and potentially other players from the Super Bowl squad.

Woolen may not be in Seattle’s plans for the future, so he is now facing that reality as he considers where he may end up playing next.

The future of running back Kenneth Walker

Woolen’s post may also hint at some confirmation to an earlier report from Adam Schefter on Tuesday. The NFL insider noted that RB Kenneth Walker may hit the open market during free agency, as the Seahawks are unlikely to use their franchise tag on him.

“It’s unlikely the Seahawks will use their franchise tag on running back and Super Bowl MVP Kenneth Walker, per league sources. The Seahawks have multiple free agents they want to retain and sign. They also will try to extend WR Jaxon Smith-Njigba. There are enough Super-Bowl tax costs that now make using a franchise tag this off-season unlikely.” — Adam Schefter

NFL Draft analyst Bucky Brooks shares the sentiment that Seattle may move on from Walker, even after he won Super Bowl LX MVP.

“The Seahawks will likely target a RB on Day 2 to replace the SB MVP with a younger and cheaper option…. As they say, “It’s business, never personal.’” — Bucky Brooks

Regardless, this will be a risky decision for Seattle as they look to keep intact the core of a Super Bowl roster in order to contend in 2026 and beyond. Walker was a key piece to their postseason run, and cornerback may be a concern as free agency and the 2026 NFL Draft loom.
