The 2024 NFL Draft is less than a week away, and teams are preparing to welcome their 2024 rookie classes.
In a recent three-round mock draft, the Seattle Seahawks landed talent on both sides of the ball.
Round 1, Pick 16: Laiatu Latu, Edge, UCLA

"While I have Dallas Turner as my top edge rusher, It's easy to see why some view UCLA's Laiatu Latu as a candidate for that spot as well. Latu's bag of pass-rush moves is as deep as you will see a rookie edge rusher have. But the medical concerns, as well as him set to turn 24 during his rookie season, has him fall to the Seahawks here, who would gladly welcome a pass rusher of his caliber."
One of my favorite positions for the Seahawks to use their first-round pick on is edge rusher in this class at 16. So many other teams are looking at the WRs and the CBs around their pick, which could lead to one of the top-edge rushers falling in their lap at 16. UCLA's Laiatu Latu is a dynamic pass rusher who projects to be a day-one contributor for whatever team drafts him. And while he ended up as my edge 2 in this class, I wouldn't be shocked at all if he led rookies in sacks next year.
Round 3, Pick 82: Christian Mahogany, G, Boston College

Because of their trade for Leonard Williams, the Seahawks don't have a second-round pick. And after bypassing the offensive line in round one, I think its crucial for them to find an impactful player in round three. Boston College's Christian Mahogany projects as a day one starter at guard, a position the Seahawks need better play out of. Mahogany would be a mauler in the run game on day one but needs some coaching in the passing game. But I think a starting-level guard in the third, like Mahogany, would be a perfect fit for Seattle.
Mike MacDonald’s past experience could convince Seattle Seahawks to take huge NFL Draft gamble
It could be a big factor.
