Geno Smith came under heavy fire last week in primetime as the Seattle Seahawks suffered a blowout Thanksgiving loss to the San Francisco 49ers.

Seattle plays a second successive Thursday night game in Week 13 against the Dallas Cowboys and faces a pass rush just as ferocious as that of the Niners.

However, this week Smith will have a little more help, the Seahawks quarterback set to be protected by both his starting tackles after Abe Lucas was activated from injured reserve.

Lucas has not played since exiting the Seahawks' season-opening defeat to the Los Angeles Rams with a knee injury.

In a corresponding move, the Seahawks have placed starting right guard Phil Haynes on IR with a toe injury. Rookie Anthony Bradford will likely step into his role next to Lucas.

A third-round pick last year, Lucas and 2022 first-round left tackle Charles Cross have a stern test ahead of them against a Cowboys defensive front headlined by edge rusher Micah Parsons, who leads the NFL with 71 pressures, per Pro Football Focus.

The Seahawks gave up 25 pressures against the 49ers as Smith was sacked six times. If Seattle is to have a hope of springing a significant upset against the 8-3 Cowboys, Lucas needs to hit the ground running on his return and help ensure Parsons and Co. do not have a similar impact.
