Jamal Adams is one of the best players on the Seattle Seahawks when he is healthy. No one on the planet is reading the above statement for the first time.

However, that 'when,' is pretty substantial.

Adams hasn't played a full season since he arrived in Seattle. While talented and able to play at a Pro Bowl level consistently when he can actually get on the field, the odds of that happening at a high rate going forward seem rather long. This could lead the team to a tough decision regarding Adams' future.

No one is saying that the prospect of having Adams back on the field isn't a good one that would make the whole defense better, but it is hard to keep throwing money at a player that has a very uncertain injury future ahead.

At this point, an injury (even a minor one) seems more likely for Adams during a season than a Pro Bowl, and that simply can't be the case for one of the most expensive players on the roster.

It is a tough prospect to talk about for some, especially for those that hold out hope that Adams could return to his previous form from the start of his Seahawks career, but the start of this season isn't doing much to support that position.

With less than a week to go, Jamal Adams has already been ruled out for the first game of the season, and a return is not in sight yet.

That is the issue with players that become injury risks like this. With Adams confirmed to be out, this could quickly turn into something much longer, and again, that is simply not conductive to a team that is in Seattle's position with a chance to compete for the division.

Assuming these injuries keep on piling up, that money could be spent somewhere better. Hopefully Adams heals up quickly.
