There aren't a whole lot of teams in the NFL that still win on their bye week. The Seattle Seahawks aren't most teams.

In addition to getting healthier and moving closer to playing their first game with a roster at 100%, Seattle was also able to get a bit of breathing space in the playoff picture.

A Rams loss is always a Seahawks win, especially when it puts Seattle in a comfortable spot in both the NFC West and the NFC.

At the end of the day, this week has always been about getting healthy. Still, no one would be mad with Seattle getting a more firm spot in the playoff race, and that is exactly what happened with the Rams losing.

The Rams were up against it from the start. The Eagles are still arguably one of the best teams in the NFL. That was going to be a hard game for anyone.

While LA was able to keep the game respectably-close, Philly pulled ahead and put the game out of reach in the fourth quarter, and that leaves the Rams at 2-3 on the year.

On the other end, the 49ers sit atop the NFC West at 4-0, and the Seahawks are just behind them at 3-1. That isn't a bad spot to be.

Sure, the 9ers look every bit the part as the NFC West Champions again, the Seahawks are currently in possession of the first wildcard spot, and that shows little sign of changing.

Between Seattle's big win over the Lions and some weak showings by the rest of the division, Seattle should finish the year with one of its better records in the last few years, and while winning the division might still be out of hand, keeping a comfortable lead over the Rams is certainly in the cards.

There are worse places to be. And, who knows? Maybe the 49ers aren't as unbeatable as they seem. The Cowboys winning big tonight could create cracks in San Francisco's armor that Seattle could exploit down the road.

One way or another, Seattle is sitting pretty and that shows no sign of changing anytime soon.
