It's up to the Seattle Seahawks, and them alone, on whether they make the playoffs this season.

After a Week 16 win over the Tennessee Titans, Seattle controls its own destiny the rest of the way. That means they don't need any help to make the postseason — they just need to win out.

The Seahawks currently hold the No. 7 seed in the playoff hunt. With an 8-7 record, Seattle is one game ahead of four teams in the NFC wild-card race: the Minnesota Vikings, Green Bay Packers, New Orleans Saints and Atlanta Falcons.

The Seahawks have a better conference record than three of those teams, which goes a long way in determining tiebreakers in case they end up dropping a game. Seattle has just one NFC team left on its schedule — the Arizona Cardinals in Week 18 — while they'll take on the AFC's Pittsburgh Steelers next week.

Every game is important, obviously, but if Seattle does drop a game, that Pittsburgh one is less important than the Arizona game due to conference records playing a part in tiebreakers. Still, the team is better off just assuming that they'll need to win out to make it rather than relying on other squads to lose.
