Everyone knew the Seattle Seahawks were going to have a great offense in 2023. That much was written in the stars with the way this roster was constructed.
The defense was always going to be the biggest determinant for how good this team was going to be in the end, and it looks like we are finally getting an answer.
Seattle just fielded one of the best defenses in the NFL through the month of October, and any continuation of that at all through the next few months could help with an eventual Seahawk playoff run.
This is an offense-first NFL, but that doesn’t mean that a good defense doesn’t help too. It is rare that a team with a great offense and terrible defense makes an appearance late in the playoffs, so this was always a point Seattle had to address if they were going to get back to a spot of glory.
The good news for the Seahawks is that their many investments on that side of the ball are paying off in a huge way. Between free agents and draft picks, Seattle’s recent additions have played major roles in turning this defense into one of the best in the NFL, especially in the month of October.
The Seahawks surrendered a mere 50 points through the four games in October, and fans need to appreciate just how impressive that number is. Giving up 12.5 points per game is a testament to everything from coaching and decisions from the front office to how the players are performing on the field.
This Seattle team is officially great. Any continuation of what we have seen on both sides of the ball over the rest of the year could lead to some very fun moments and a potential run at the NFC.
Seahawks achieve new status with recent results
What a time to be a fan of the Seahawks.
