The Seattle Seahawks watched Kenneth Walker III head to the Kansas City Chiefs during free agency, so what’s next? eEmanuel Wilson joined the roster as depth, but they could still use another proven option as Zach Charbonnet works back from his injury.

A proven addition, with plenty to prove, is already on their radar.

Seahawks hosted veteran RB Najee Harris for a visit

Accordion to reports, running back Najee Harris visited with the Seahawks on Wednesday. He has a visit scheduled with the Las Vegas Raiders as well. Harris suffered a torn left Achilles in Week 3 last season, ending his first and only season with the Los Angeles Chargers.

The potential of Najee Harris in Seattle after latest reports

“Najee Harris received a bit of a raw deal with the Pittsburgh Steelers. After making NFL history to join Adrian Peterson as a back to record four consecutive 1,000-yard rushing seasons and 5+ touchdowns, the Steelers declined his fifth-year option, and he hit the open market. His stint with the Chargers was marred by injuries. It started with an eye injury due to a fluke fireworks incident that caused him to start the season on the NFI list. Then came the Achilles tear that rendered one of the most durable backs in the league useless, and now Harris is a free agent again.

He has attacked his rehab, and his representation has provided encouraging updates throughout. From the Seahawks’ standpoint, he would make a lot of sense as a replacement for Kenneth Walker. He doesn’t have the lateral quicks or top-end acceleration that Walker does, but he can ensure that physical presence, and he played in a zone-heavy scheme during his years with the Steelers.

I love the bruising backfield of Charbonnet and Harris as a potential pairing in the Pacific Northwest.”

Seattle would be smart to bring in a player like Harris who wants to show the world he still has plenty left in the tank. Additionally, drafting a rookie on day two of this year’s draft could be a smart backup plan and key cog in the success of Seattle’s running game for 2026.
