A quiet day for the Seattle Seahawks ended with a boom as the team has agreed to terms with free agent defensive tackle Dre'Mont Jones.

Per Jordan Schultz of The Score, Jones is signing on for three years and $48 million with $18 million guaranteed at signing.

Jones, a third-round pick from the 2019 NFL Draft, spent his first four years in the NFL with the Denver Broncos. He started 29 games for the Broncos, and progressively became more involved with the team's defensive interior. His 22.0 career sacks are 10th-most among all interior defensive lineman since his rookie season, and his 28.0 career TFLs are 15-most.

In 2022, Jones achieved career-highs in snaps (715) while tying his career-high in sacks (6.5). Pro Football Focus graded him out at 67.3 rushing the passer, recording 45 pressures on 448 pass-rushing snaps.

The Seahawks had a big need entering the offseason at defensive tackle. They're expected to release veteran Shelby Harris, who used to play with Jones in Denver, and Poona Ford is a free agent as well.

Jones' new contract puts him at 13th for defensive tackles in terms of average annual value, and makes him the centerpiece for a revamped front four in Seattle.
