The Seattle Seahawks entered the offseason needing to improve the defensive line.

Last season, the team gave up 23.6 points per game on 150.2 rushing yards per game. Through free agency, Seattle added pieces that the organization hopes will bolster an old weakness. The organization went out and signed Dre'Mont Jones. Meanwhile,  Jarran Reed hopes to move in the right direction. But coach Pete Carroll acknowledged the team isn't finished along the defensive line.

"We've got some work to do," Carroll said Wednesday. "We've done some work here in free agency, and we're going to continue in the draft, and we'll just keep battling throughout to put it together."

Luckily for Carroll and the Seahawks, they find themselves in a prime position to add more pieces along the defensive line in the draft.  Owning a pair of first-round picks, the first being at No. 5 overall, Seattle has many avenues to improve the line.

"We made some big commitments that have gotten us to this point, and we're really excited about it, but it has left us with a few question marks we've got to get filled out, so there's plenty of time to get that done," Carroll said.

They've been linked to edge Jalen Carter out of Georgia as well as edge Tyree Wilson out of Texas Tech. Most mock drafts have Seattle selecting one of the stars with the first selection at the top of round one.

But whoever Seattle takes, it is clear that the team only wants to get better along the front line. Though draft picks won't automatically fix last season's issues, they could provide some needed reprieve at the weakest point of Seattle's defense.
