The Seattle Seahawks are the real deal-there is no debating that fact any longer.

While there are two losses on their schedule so far, the Seahawks have been able to take care of business when needed, and they sit comfortably in a playoff spot.

There are a lot of pretenders in a very weak NFC. The Seahawks aren't one of them.

Everyone has known about the growing strength in the AFC for a while now. The wealth of young quarterbacks made it obvious from early on that the AFC was going to get a huge chunk of the top talent in the league, and it even reasons that there are better coaches in the AFC as well.

Still, there are a few teams in the NFC that have a way of keeping up with their rivals in the other conference, and the Seahawks are one of a small handful.

The Eagles and the 49ers look great. Outside of them, it can be hard to make heads or tails in the rest of the conference.

The NFC South is irrelevant, the NFC North has multiple teams below .500, and the Cowboys are the only other team in the conference that is above .500 and not in first place in their division.

The picture is pretty bleak.

Still, this isn't bad news for Seattle. They currently sit in that second tier beneath the 9ers and Eagles, and that isn't a terrible place to be.

As everyone else struggles, the Seahawks, still in a rebuild of sorts as they look for an identity without Russell Wilson, are one of the best teams in the conference and able to strike at the lead that the top two teams have built on everyone else.

The future is bright in Seattle. They may just be a year off from being in the conversation for best team in the while NFC. That day is coming.
