Free agency is right around the corner and teams are making moves in order to hit the ground running. Count the Seattle Seahawks as one of said teams.

In a move many saw coming, the Seahawks released Pro Bowl defender, Jamal Adams. They also released longtime starter and three-time Pro Bowler, Quandre Diggs, leaving the safety position perilously thin as Mike Macdonald enters his first offseason as head coach. Tight end Will Dissly was also released.

In all, the Seahawks save over $24 million with the moves, which gives them around $36-$37 million to operate with in upcoming free agency, per Over The Cap. The 'Hawks saved a little more than $6 million by releasing Adams, $11 million by releasing Diggs, and nearly $7 million cutting Dissly.

The Seahawks traded two first-round draft picks, a third-rounder, and safety Bradley McDouglad to the New York Jets in exchange for Adams and fourth-rounder ahead of the 2020 season. Overall the move didn't really work out as planned and part of that was because of a devastating quad injury that occurred in 2022.

Diggs was drafted by the Lions back in 2015 and was traded to the Seahawks in 2019. He hasn't missed a game for the 'Hawks since his first full season with the team in 2020. He's been a core leader and player for years, now, and has amassed 24 interceptions (that include two pick-sixes), along with 580 tackles, 56 PBUs, five forced fumbles, two fumble recoveries, 15 tackles for loss, and a sack.

Dissly was also drafted, but in 2018, and has caught 127 passes for 1,421 yards and 13 touchdowns in his career. He's appeared in 72 games with 65 starts.
