Seahawks replace one of their top in-house free agents and form an elite duo for the future in a new 2026 NFL mock draft
The perfect replacement for one of the Seahawks’ top in-house free agents falls right into Seattle’s lap in a new 2026 NFL mock draft.
The Seattle Seahawks, as you know, are the 2023 NFL Super Bowl champions. The target on their back is larger than anyone else’s in the league.
That means all eyes will be on them this offseason to see how they attack the offseason now that they will be defending their title and not chasing one. The team knocked the 2025 offseason out of the park, so now it’s time to see how they follow it up.
The 2026 NFL Draft is about to shift into high gear with the Scouting Combine kicking off this week. A recent A to Z NFL mock draft has the Seahawks landing a replacement for one of their top in-house free agents, safety Coby Bryant.
Seahawks select Oregon star safety Dillon Thieneman
“If Dillon Thieneman played a more premium position, he likely goes earlier than this. He starred for two programs (both Purdue and Oregon). Thieneman logged eight interceptions in just three seasons of action, then proved he could operate as a box safety in 2025, too. Thieneman is the physical enforcer that would fit right in with the Seahawks, fresh off a college career with over 300 tackles.” – Travis May, A to Z Sports NFL Draft analyst

Dillon Thieneman’s college stats at Oregon and Purdue
- 2023 (Purdue): 12 games, 106 total tackles, 2 tackles for loss, 6 interceptions, 2 pass deflections, 2 forced fumble
- 2024 (Purdue): 12 games, 104 total games, 4.5 tackles for loss, 1 sack, 7 pass deflections
- 2025(Oregon): 15 games, 96 total tackles, 3.5 tackles for loss, 1 sack, 2 interceptions, 5 pass deflections
Bryant has been a major contributor for the Seahawks over the past two years. He has seven interceptions in the last two seasons combined and is coming off a career-high four interceptions in 2025.
The team’s former fourth-round pick is now set to hit free agency, and Seattle may have to let him walk in order to pay other members of its roster. If they do this draft class has a ton of talent at safety that they should consider, one of which is Oregon’s Dillon Thieneman.
In most drafts a player of Thieneman’s caliber would in the discussion to be the first safety off the board. Unfortunately for him, he is in the same draft class as Ohio State star Calsb Downs, so that leaves him battling it out to be the second safety to hear his name called.
In this mock, he lands that honor with the Seahawks selecting him with the final pick of the first round. Thieneman would slide into Bryant’s starting spot and would give the Seahawks a fantastic young duo at safety with Nick Emmanwori.
