Today will largely be a day to forget for the Seattle Seahawks. A messy game from start to finish on both sides of the ball, Seattle will have to go back to the drawing board to refocus and get ready for the rest of their schedule.

Despite a pretty rough game, it was good to see the young faces continue stepping up.

The one young guy that needed to step up the most did, even if in a small fashion. Perhaps this is the start of the ball rolling for Jaxon Smith-Njigba.

Four catches for 48 yards may not be a crazy line for most players, but that by itself almost doubles what JSN has been able to accomplish in the month leading up to this game.

In a sport where inches can mean miles down the road, this somewhat modest line was exactly what the Seahawks needs to see from their WR3 to indicate that valuable pick was worth it in the first place.

After weeks of not getting much out of the rookie, tonight shut down any of the talks of JSN not living up to expectations in year one and should hopefully indicate the usage of the rookie is going to shoot up over the next few weeks.

If Smith-Njigba keeps playing as he did tonight alongside a pass-heavy offense and his teammates pick up their slack, this offense could be very good come the end of the season.

Hopefully this is the first decent game of many for the rookie.
