The Seahawks have several talented running backs on their roster. The problem they are having is keeping them healthy.
After getting rookie second-round pick Zach Charbonnet back from a shoulder injury, the Seahawks saw seventh-round pick Kenny McIntosh join starter Kenneth Walker III on the sideline.
Walker is still out with a groin injury and the Seahawks will now be without McIntosh for at least some time after he suffered a sprained knee.
McIntosh fumbled in the third quarter of the mock game as he landed awkwardly while being tackled. He was then seen with a wrap on his left knee.
Pete Carroll confirmed after the game that the team would carry out further tests on McIntosh's knee on Saturday.
The former Georgia back had received plenty of reps with both Walker and Charbonnet out through injury. Charbonnet did not feature in the mock game but is scheduled to return to practice on Sunday.
Seattle will pin most of its hopes in the backfield on Walker eventually shaking off his groin problem and building on a superb rookie season that saw him rack up 1,050 rushing yards and nine touchdowns.
But the Seahawks will also want to build a deep backfield with several players on whom they can rely. The consistent shuffling at the position due to injuries has not helped those ambitions.
