For all the moves the Seattle Seahawks have made at the start of NFL free agency, what the organization hasn't done was address its biggest question on defense.

The linebacker position was a known concern for those that analyze and watch the Seahawks. But on Thursday, Seattle's general manager John Schneider finally admitted that he has to do more to sure up that position on defense.

"It is an area of concern," Schneider said of the position in a radio interview.

Though it was a clear concern, Schneider also said that it is a position where "there are numbers," indicating that Seattle felt as though it needed to address other areas on the team first.

Still, Seattle will need to figure out an answer for the linebacker position, fast. On Monday, the Seahawks lost linebacker Cody Barton to the Commanders on a one-year deal.

Barton was a third-round pick by the Seahawks in the 2019 NFL draft. He finally took over last year as the full-time starter and totaled 136 combined tackles.

The linebacker position may have been deep two days ago, but options are starting to dwindle and fast.  Bobby Wagner is still a free agent, but other teams have expressed interest in his services.

The ball is now in Schneider's court. He finally admits that linebacker is something that needs to be addressed. Now, he needs to put the money where his mouth is.
