The Seattle Seahawks made some moves that went relatively under the radar on Wednesday.

The organization gave qualifying offers to three exclusive rights free agent players: cornerback Mike Jackson, defensive lineman Myles Adams, and linebacker Jon Rhattigan. Each player now gets a one-year deal with no opportunity to negotiate with other teams around the league.

Rhattigan and Jackson will get $940,000 and Adams $870,000.

Out of the three, Jackson presents the most intrigue for Seahawks fans. In the 2022 season, he emerged as the starting cornerback on the left side, opposite rookie Tariq Woolen.

Jackson collected 63 tackles, 12 PBUs, and one interception last season.

However, in the 2023 season, it appears that Jackson will have some competition with a third-year player Tre Brown along with anyone else the Seahawks bring in for depth.

It should be noted that speculation still exists regarding how the Seahawks will use the rest of free agency and the NFL Draft to replenish the cornerback position. But Seattle may also not feel too bad heading into training camp with a cornerback room that looks like Brown and Jackson as position leaders with Woolen on the opposing side and Coby Bryant as the nickel corner.

As for Adams, Seattle will hang on to him simply because he is still a young and relatively unproven defensive lineman. In 2022, Adams collected 16 total tackles in 10 games played. He didn't start any contests last season.

Lastly, with Rhattigan, the Seahawks are retaining a player who appeared in five games during the 2022 NFL season. He collected five total tackles and he appeared in one postseason game. For his career, Rhattigan has 15 total tackles (12 solo) in 19 games played.
