Week 1 wasn't all that pretty for the Seattle Seahawks. Week 2 won't be all that different if the Lions and Seahawks played like they did last week.
Detroit and Seattle came into the season in pretty similar positions. Both had great offenses and were hopeful that their defenses had taken steps forward. Both had good shots at taking control of their division.
The Lions lived up to the hype. The Seahawks did not. Now, Seattle is going to have a lot to prove against the Lions in what should be a very tough matchup.
As it stands, the Lions look like one of the best teams in the NFL. Perhaps that is one of the benefits of beating the defending champs in Week 1.
Detroit looks every bit the part of a team that could be in the NFC Championship conversation come the end of the year. Seattle is a bit of a different story.
If that same Detroit offense and defense shows up, Seattle is going to be hard pressed to post any points or stop the Lions from scoring at will.
However, on the flip side, the Seahawks could prove a ton about their character if they show up to this game and keep it close/potentially win.
Week 1 against a mediocre Rams team didn't inspire much confidence in this season, but a decent showing in Week 2 against a quality Lions team could help turn this season around before it gets too far off track.
