Throwback uniforms can divide opinion. There have been some classics and some absolute stinkers (looking at you, Steelers bumblebee unis), then there are others that just don't really hit the mark.
The Seahawks, however, have absolutely nailed it.
Wednesday saw the Seahawks reveal the throwback uniforms they will wear this season, and the reviews are rightly universally positive.
Seattle will wear the 90s-inspired uniforms when they face the Browns in Week 8.
They hark back to an era when the Seahawks were a fixture of the AFC West. It was not a successful spell for Seattle. After reaching the Divisional Round of the playoffs in the 1984 season, the Seahawks won just two AFC West titles in their final 17 years in the division. In that time they did not win a playoff game.
While successful seasons were not plentiful during that era, there is no denying Seattle's uniforms were among the best in the NFL. These throwbacks are and outstanding reprisal and were met with widespread approval by the Seahawks players.
The only issue is that we get to see the Seahawks wear these throwbacks for just one game. Still, at least that's one game where won't have to tolerate their 'action green' alternates.
