The Seattle Seahawks are hosting Texas defensive tackle T'Vondre Sweat on a visit later this week, NFL Network's Tom Pelissero reports.
Sweat ran into some off-the-field issues this past week. He was arrested on Sunday morning and is facing a DWI charge. He posted a $3,000 bond after the arrest.
However, it is expected that he will have a lot of explaining to do regarding this situation during his pre draft visits. After the arrest, Sweat is reportedly visiting the Tennessee Titans on Monday before heading to the Seahawks.
Swift had his best collegiate season in 2023, being named the Big 12 Defensive Player of the Year, as well as receiving the John Outland trophy, which is given to the nation's "Most Outstanding Interior Defensive lineman."
He impressed at the 2024 Senior Bowl, and is expected to at least go in the top 50 during the draft. However, his legal issues could raise cause for concern.
A to Z Sport's Sam Phalen detailed what impressed him about Sweat.
"In size alone, Sweat stands out. He is 6-foot-4 and 366 pounds. He is ridiculously strong and plays with good leverage. His presence on the interior defensive line powered the Longhorns to being a Top 15 scoring defense…
"For a 366-pound human, Sweat's footwork is outstanding and allows him to plug holes in the run game. He has a motor, and is well-conditioned. He is not afraid to run down a ball-carrier on the other side of the field," Phalen wrote.
