Following the surprise release of a recent draft pick yesterday, it was only a matter of time before the Steelers made some coinciding roster moves.
Pittsburgh has elevated, activated, and signed in-house players ahead of the Bengals game.
Here is a look at what it means, and how one player just received a huge bonus days before Christmas:
Steelers Make Roster Moves Ahead of Bengals Game
Defensive back Elijah Riley was activated from the Reserve/Injured List to the 53-man roster and linebacker Kyron Johnson was signed to the 53-man roster from the practice squad.
In addition, linebacker Myles Jack and safety Eric Rowe were elevated from the practice squad to the Active/Inactive Roster for the game and will revert back to the practice squad after the game.

Last week was Johnson’s last chance to prove he belonged on the Steelers' active roster, since the team had already elevated him a maximum of three times. Thus, this signing officially makes him a part of the 53-man roster and allows him to collect game checks that will serve as a huge bonus right in time for the Holidays.
As for Jack and Rowe, those two bring a veteran atmosphere to two position groups that are reeling from injury and plagued by inexperience. It will help that the team gets Elijah Riley back, but they are still down their top 4 safeties heading into Saturday.
