The Pittsburgh Steelers lost cornerback Cam Sutton to the Detroit Lions earlier this week.

Sutton, who was drafted by Pittsburgh in the third round of the 2017 NFL Draft, signed a three-year deal with the Lions.

The Steelers signed potential future Hall of Fame cornerback Patrick Peterson to replace Sutton.

After Sutton's signing became official this week, the former Steelers defensive back sent a message to the city of Pittsburgh.

"It Was All A Dream…Truly Thank The City of Pittsburgh, The Rooney Family & Steelers For EVERYTHING," wrote Sutton in an Instagram post. "It’s Been a WHOLE LOTTA GANGG Over The Years And Gone Always Remain The Same. You Know My Heart."

Sutton had said he wanted to remain in Pittsburgh, but the Steelers had to make the tough decision to let the former Tennessee Vols standout test free agency. And the market that awaited Sutton was a bit more than Pittsburgh was comfortable with.

The Steelers will be just fine after signing Peterson, a player who perfectly fits the culture in Pittsburgh. But Sutton is still a guy who will certainly be missed by fans.
