The Pittsburgh Steelers have been busy in the very late stages of free agency, trading for Allen Robinson last week, and continuing to refine the roster ahead of this Thursday's NFL Draft.

One position group they are sure to add competent depth to is the receiver room as the team is now returning Miles Boykin alongside Dionate Johnson, and George Pickens, while gaining the presence of second-year pass catcher Calvin Austin III after he missed his rookie year with an injury.

That doesn't mean the team can't or won't add more pass catchers in the draft however, especially when you consider that Boykin is only returning on a one year deal, and was largely a contributor on special teams last year.

Boykin was drafted in the third round of the 2019 NFL Draft by the Baltimore Ravens before the former Golden Domer of Notre Dame joined the Steelers last offseason as a free agent.

Playing in over 16 games, Boykin only caught two passes but as stated, he was one of the best contributors on the Steelers' special teams unit and even if that's all he provides next year, his depth will be well worth it, given the presumed nature of his deal.

Still only 26 years old, there's always the chance Boykin is a late bloomer, potentially coming into his own in a more significant role in his second year in Pittsburgh. Regardless though, the Steelers are making sound decisions as we approach the draft and more importantly, the 2023 season.
