The Steelers just lost depth at one position both devoid of talent and actual bodies at this point.

Per Doug Kyed of A to Z Sports, linebacker Robert Spillane has signed a two-year deal, worth a maximum of $9 million and over $4 million in guaranteed salary.

Spillane played for Pittsburgh from 2019-2022 where he recorded 191 tackles and a pick-six.

Spillane was mostly a rotational piece with specific usage based on personnel packages. That doesn't mean the Steelers won't miss the linebacker, as they are left with only Myles Jack and Mark Robinson at inside linebacker as of now.

Pittsburgh will now explore other avenues when it comes to adding depth at inside linebacker.
