The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are nearing one of their toughest tests of the year. The Eagles were tough, but the Detroit Lions are going to be a test in their own right.

With just one loss to a scrappy Seahawks team, the Lions have looked dominant for the majority of their competitions so far this year, and they should prove an excellent test for the Buccaneers and where they stand.

Assuming the Bucs want to win this game and prove themselves as one of the better teams in the NFL, they'll need to start by shutting down Jared Goff.

As much as this might surprise people, it's true; there is no player on the Lions that will have more of an impact on a win or a loss.

If Goff plays well, like he has this year, it's going to be hard to slow that offense down. If Goff struggles, that should be the one way for Tampa to get a shot at a win.

The Buccaneers haven't exactly been explosive on offense this year. That's okay. Rather than needing to score often and score fast, the Bucs have been able to pair a calculated offensive attack with a stellar defense to put themselves ahead more often than not.

The Lions can get the Bucs off this game.

If the Lions score fast with their weapons on offense, that will force the Bucs to try to match their pace, and that probably won't end well for Tampa.

The Buccaneers want to win the game by playing deliberately on offense and slowing down the opposing offense. As hard as that will be, especially with Jared Goff playing quality football, this looks like the most straight-forward way to ending with a win.
