This has been an ugly, ugly year for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the same can be said for the rest of the NFC South as a division.

During a time where it feels like every team in the division is doing their best to throw a chance at the four seed away, the Bucs have done so the least.

In addition to currently owning the top spot in the division and thus a spot in the playoffs, the Buccaneers also control their own playoff destiny with their remaining schedule.

If you said we would be here four months ago….we'd probably believe you. As bad as Tampa's roster is, the rest of the NFC South is really not much to look at or fear when it's all said and done.

Between terrible coaching (the Saints), no weapons (the Panthers), and a combination of both (the Falcons), the rest of the division is just bad enough to fall behind an extremely mediocre Buccaneer team.

Tampa has won the games that matter, even if barely when you look at their last two against the Panthers and Falcons, and that has been enough.

'Enough' has been the theme for this season. Not good. Sometimes bad. However, enough to make the playoffs.

Some would argue that this is not a good place to be, especially this writer when you look at the fact that making the playoffs isn't the end-all for a team like this and the fact that playoff teams don't always make the necessary changes after the fact, but it doesn't matter in the end.

The Bucs aren't going to tank-they aren't going to roll over. With games remaining against a bad Saints team and an even worse Panthers team, the Bucs are probably actually going to keep winning.

It defies logic, but it is the truth.

Unless something crazy happens, this Buccaneers team is destined for the playoffs, and that is something that the players and staff are going to be very, very happy about.
