Hand up, this might not be the easiest time to be a fan of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

We all knew this day was coming after three years of Tom Brady, but actually having to live in it is a different story.

No one wants to go back to the days of struggling with irrelevance, yet here it seems like we are. No quarterback, massive salary cap issues, and a questionable coaching regime is going to make the next months (or years) very difficult in many regards.

Despite everything that is currently working against the Bucs, there is at least a bit of good news that has just come out regarding the 2023 NFL Draft: the Buccaneers are getting two compensatory picks.

A fifth-round pick and a seventh might not be a ton to save some sour spirits, but it is better than nothing, and Jason Licht has shown that he can turn these Day-Three picks into contributing players based on his last few years (Grant Stuard, Ko Kieft, Tyler Johnson, Scotty Miller, Justin Watson).

The Bucs getting anything out of the departures of Jordan Whitehead and O.J. Howard is good for the team. It might not be enough to save the franchise right now, but this could be just the push the team needs to make a bit more noise in the draft.

History tells us one of these players will play a larger role with the Buccaneers than expected.
