TAMPA BAY – Tom Brady has played a lot of football.
As of now, about 22 seasons worth. With a fast-approaching 23rd season on deck.
So, it's a big deal when he says he's never seen something happen before. As it turns out, Buccaneers fans and the RayJay environment gave him one of the most memorable moments of his career.
The Buccaneers were tied in overtime with the Bills back in Week 14 of the 2021 season. Tampa Bay's defense stopped Buffalo on the first drive of the extra quarter, so all the Buccaneers needed was a field goal to win the game.
Brady and the offense soon faced a 3rd and 3 from their own 42 after starting the drive inside their own 10. They needed a conversion, because no one wants to have to defend Josh Allen in a sudden-death scenario.
Brady dropped back and thanks to great protection, had plenty of time to find Breshad Perriman on a crossing route over the middle of the field. Perriman, a world-class speedster, was matchup on linebacker Tremaine Edmunds. He took Brady's ball in stride and turned on the jets en route to a 58-yard game-winning touchdown.
Buccaneers fans had Raymond James Stadium rocking. It was a huge moment that essentially locked the Buccaneers in as division champs.
And according to Brady, he'd never seen a stadium as wild as RayJay was that Sunday evening.
"There's no greater feeling in the world than that one," Brady said on the latest episode of the Buccaneers' In The Current. "I've never seen a stadium do that. I mean, I was kind of in shock myself a little bit.
"[There have been] very few games in my career where we've been able to pull those off."
It was an awesome moment and certainly one of the best moments of the Brady era.
You can relive the moment below. It's wild to hear how loud the crowd is and it's funny how much CBS' camera is shaking when the final score graphic is displayed:
Brady has been a part of plenty of big games throughout his career and he's seen all kids of insane moments. For him to say that the crowd and environment was something he's never seen before is a pretty big compliment and accomplishment for the Buccaneers and their fans. Even if Brady is a bit biased in the matter.
But I'm sure we all know what his favorite big moment of all-time is: the next one.
And there will be plenty of chances for those in 2022.
