If you want to talk about the up and down play from quarterback Kyle Trask for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers during their first preseason game of the year, it wouldn't be fair to leave out any discussion of the downright abysmal play from the offensive line.

The ragtag group that took the field for the team in pewter and red tonight left a lot to be desired, and one of the biggest weaknesses came from a priority draft pick from last season.

Luke Goedeke had a night to forget at right tackle. In fact, he did so bad that the Bucs may have to go back to the drawing board to find a replacement for Tristan Wirfs.

Goedeke got beat for most of the night, giving up sacks and pressures on more reps than not.

The transition from left guard to right tackle may not be easy, even for a guy that has history at right tackle, but even a performance like this against backups comes as a surprise from Goedeke.

Whether the defender attacked the outside or the inside, it seemed like Goedeke was a step behind the defender and was then playing catchup as he tried to get his positioning back. That rarely led to a true recovery.

Whatever the reason for the struggle, this will be a night to forget for Goedeke and the Bucs, and it raises some legitimate concerns about the current course of action for an important position.

Tampa is going to need much better play from its right tackle during the regular season if it wants to keep every quarterback on the roster from getting injured almost immediately.

Goedeke absolutely has to be better.
