The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have been able to find their most success over the last few seasons in large part to young guys playing above expectations.

Rookies stepped up in massive ways during the Super Bowl season and were able to define the Buccaneer franchise as one that was equally built between the young guys and the vets.

That identifier has fallen off somewhat in recent years, and second-year defender Logan Hall is one of the main culprits as to why.

The Buccaneer defensive line has been one of the best in the NFL over the past few years largely due to Vita Vea and William Gholston.

This duo has been the consistent component of a group that has been next-to-impossible to overcome for most teams, and Logan Hall looked like a guy that could round out this trio with a consistent third (or eventually replace Gholston).

Unfortunately, that player hasn't arrived just yet.

Despite getting more reps this year, Hall has been extremely quiet and looks like he has regressed from his rookie season, a year that wasn't all that flashy to begin with.

Given the need for consistency up front and Tampa's history of hitting on most of its early defensive guys in the draft, Hall's slow acclimation to the league has been problematic for Tampa.

It is still very early in his career and there is time for a positive change to happen, but it is worth noting that Hall will have to be much better over the course of his rookie career if the Buccaneers are to make the most of his selection.
