Devin White and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers have been a pair worth keeping an eye on since last offseason.

White was able to make things somewhat complicated by requesting and then rescinding a trade request, but the far more important side of things on this topic is how the Bucs feel about White.

After the better part of another season to make a true determination, it looks like the Buccaneers should have no choice but to move on from Devin White at the end of this season.

White has always been the type of player that shows up on the stat sheets but still avoids the moniker of "elite" throughout the league. The complete lack of the ability to defend the pass mixed with a style of play that is often too fast to be successful and calculated has led to White drawing the ire of many during an up and down career in Tampa.

Tackles and sacks may look nice on paper or in a box score, but White being a total liability against running backs and tight ends largely destroys any case that exists to keep him on the field.

That was all the case before today, and none of that mentioned the high price tag for players at White's position and how he looked against Gardner Minshew.

White getting juked out of his shoes against a backup quarterback should be the end of any second of thought the Buccaneers ever gave to giving him a major contract. White has missed tackles before, plenty in fact, but this one seemed to show that the end is finally here.

The Buccaneers can't afford to pass on other vastly more important players to keep a linebacker happy with a massive contract who doesn't even play the modern game well.

White was a fun player to watch and was big part of the Super Bowl run, but the end has finally arrived.
