The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are finally gearing up to play football again. The matchup tonight against the Steelers is sure to be hard to watch in stretches for a variety of reasons, but that doesn't mean there won't be plenty of information to glean when it matters.

The Buccaneers have a number of players to keep a close eye on between young guys that have been on the team, new free agents, and recent draft picks.

Here are the guys that should be worth keeping a close eye on tonight:

Baker Mayfield

Is there anyone that fans are more interested in seeing?

Mayfield's addition was probably the most important to this Buccaneers team during the offseason. Mayfield still has the larger-than-life personality that makes him a very popular name to follow, especially with such a large question mark at the position.

It doesn't seem like there is much separating Mayfield and Kyle Trask in practice, so balling out tonight will go a long way towards making Mayfield the starter for the year.

Zyon McCollum

Zyon McCollum is an athletic freak that hasn't received the chance to establish himself in a talented corner room just yet, but some new departures should open the door for a fierce competition for the CB3 spot.

McCollum obviously has all of the tools to be successful, but he will need to dominate competition like what he will see tonight if he wants to see playing time in the regular season.

Sean Tucker

Much like the corner position, the depth chart at running back beyond starter Rachaad White is hazy.

Tucker got a lot of buzz when he arrived with the Buccaneers, but his future is less clear than most of the other guys on the roster.

RB2 or off the roster seem like they are equally on the table. Playing well tonight (which should absolutely happen with a decent chunk of reps) will go a long way towards keeping that spot in a very shallow room.
