Things are not all looking great for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers right now. This shouldn’t be a shock for a team that has lost three games in a row now.
The loss to the Bills was bad, but that one was at least a bit more expected than the one the week before against the Falcons. The Bills are perennial contenders. The Falcons are just bad.
Sadly for the Buccaneers, today just put the struggles of the Falcons on display even further, and that doesn’t look good for a team like Tampa.
No one ever thought the NFC South was going to be a powerhouse this season, and the four teams in the division have all done their part to back this notion up on a weekly basis.
It seems like the team that wins the division will just limp their way in at the end, and for a short time that team at the top was the Buccaneers. However, a loss to the Falcons took that honor away from Tampa.
A lot of fans rightfully wondered how a team like Atlanta could stump the Bucs, and it would’ve been less painfully if the Falcons then went on a tear from that point and looked great.
That didn’t happen.
Instead, the Falcons followed up their win over the Bucs with a loss to the Titans with a rookie quarterback. The Titans carved the Falcons up through the air and Atlanta even had to bench their starting quarterback. This is the same team that dominated the Bucs a week ago in every area but the box score. Not good.
The transitive property isn’t exactly gospel in the NFL, but it is sure worth taking into account from time to time, and this isn’t a great look for the Bucs.
Buccaneers embarrass themselves with loss
That one is going to sting for a little while.
