This move feels like it has been coming for a while now. It may not ever be easy to see a veteran player and key piece of a Super Bowl team walk, but the Tampa Bay Buccaneers had no other choice.

As much as it may hurt, Tampa has finally made the right decision and cut kicker Ryan Succop

It's tough, but performances on the field and cash constraints made this move a no-brainer for Tampa.

Succop really struggled from distance in 2022, going 2/7 from 50+ yards, and many of these misses came in the worst moments.

The Bucs simply couldn't rely on the vet to show consistency in this increasingly-important part of the kicking game, and the decision to cut him also helps get the team back into the green with their cap space by opening up $3.75 million.

Tampa will need to go out and find a new kicker now to fill the void, but there will be plenty of big legs out there that can save the team a bit more money in the long run.

Still, this new player will have big shoes to fill. Ryan Succop forever changed the position for the Buccaneers.
