The run game has not been a point of positivity for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers for a while now, but that doesn't mean that a change won't come.

Does one guy completely make a difference? Probably not, but it sure has been fun to watch the growth and progression of rookie running back Sean Tucker.

Tucker has been the best back for the Bucs during the preseason games so far, and while it is too soon to project whether or not he will complicate the depth chart with Rachaad White, it is easy to see that he is miles better than Ke'Shawn Vaughn.

Vaughn has generally been a disappointment for the Buccaneers throughout his career, and a preseason with plenty of reps and negative yards has done nothing to change that fact.

Short of something dramatic, Vaughn should probably be off the team at this point, and it is certainly the case by now that he has lost his job to the rookie Tucker.

Tucker hasn't been flawless, especially with some less-than-stellar moments with a weaker supporting cast, but the overall product has been one that speaks to Tucker's talents as an NFL back.

The rookie back has seen more play as the weeks go on, and an efficient performance last night (seven carries for 37 yards and three receptions for 18 yards) makes him look miles better than Vaughn with his -8 yards.

Tucker runs explosively but cuts well, does plenty with the ball in his hands, brings shiftiness that Vaughn always lacked, and is a willing blocker in the passing game.

The competition simply isn't close any longer. Tampa may like the safety of Vaughn as a guy that has been with the team and played sparingly en route to a Super Bowl, but the decision should be very easy at this point to roll the dice with the rookie over anything else.

Rachaad White may want to watch his back too, but we aren't totally there just yet.
