The Buccaneers continue to make moves before the official start of free agency. Per NFL Network's Mike Garafolo, the Buccaneers were able to reach an agreement with the New England Patriots on a trade that sends veteran guard Shaq Mason to Tampa Bay. Mason will reunite with Tom Brady while filling a major need for the Buccaneers.

Brady and Mason played together from 2015-2019 before Brady left New England for Tampa Bay. NBCS Boston's Phil Perry later revealed the price for Mason: a fifth-round pick in 2022.

That's essentially a steal for the Buccaneers. Mason is considered to be one of the NFL's best guards and will be just 29-years-old when the season starts. He'll also cost the Buccaneers a little over $7.3 million in 2022, which is another big win trade. Mason will essentially replace Alex Cappa, who signed a four-year, $40 million deal with the Cincinnati Bengals on Monday.

Cappa is 27, so the Buccaneers not only got a cheaper and arguably better player, but it didn't cost them an arm and a leg. Mason is only a couple years older, as well. It looks as if the Patriots needed to create cap space, more than anything, and that was the catalyst behind the trade.

Protecting Tom Brady at all costs needs to be the Buccaneers No. 1 priority and they are one step closer to doing that after Tuesday's trade.
