The Tampa Bay Buccaneers (4-3) lost a tough game at home to the surging Baltimore Ravens (5-2), but at the same time, the Bucs lost a lot more than a game.

Star wideouts Mike Evans and Chris Godwin left the game with injuries and it looks like both guys are about to miss some time. Especially Godwin, who was seriously hurt during the final minute of the game. ESPN wouldn't show the replay, his injury was so bad, which obviously doesn't bode well for the rest of his season. Bucs head coach Todd Bowles said after the game that he believes Godwin dislocated his ankle.

Evans re-aggravated the hamstring injury that bothered him throughout last week's practice sessions and left the game in the first half. It remains to be seen how long he'll be out, but if you watch football you know just how finicky hamstring injuries could be. Evans is a tough guy, but it's unknown if he'll get through this injury without missing time.

On top of all that, Bucs standout rookie Tykee Smith also left the game early with a concussion. The secondary was already without starting perimeter corner Jamel Dean and it's just another big blow to the position group that's been dealing with injuries all season long.

Godwin's injury is especially tough, and there's even irony involved, because play-by-play announcer Joe Buck literally said the Bucs should think about "living another day" on the play before Godwin got hurt. The game was clearly out of hand and the Bucs weren't coming back, so why risk anything major like that in a sport where injuries happen as often as we change shirts?

"Chris deserves better than that," Baker Mayfield said after the game. "He's an unbelievable guy, unbelievable teammate. Obviously, you guys have seen he's been playing extraordinary this year. Yeah, we've got a heavy heart right now."

Either way, the future is looking pretty bleak as the Bucs continue to march through the toughest stretch of their season.
