New England Patriots fans heard it for years and now Tampa Bay Buccaneers fans get to hear it — opposing fans think Tom Brady gets special treatment from NFL officials.

I'm sure most star quarterbacks get a few more calls than rookie quarterbacks, but I don't really understand the conspiracy that Brady is being shown favoritism from the NFL.

Have people forgotten about deflategate and the suspension that the NFL and Roger Goodell gave Brady? He was suspended for four games over the air in footballs. I don't think that qualifies as favoritism.

If you're still not convinced that the conspiracy surrounding Brady and the Buccaneers is totally false, then check out a wild stat that ESPN pointed out this week.

According to ESPN, the Buccaneers tied for last in the NFL last season in drawing penalties from opponents. They also tied for last with just 635 opposition penalty yards.

From ESPN:

Do you think Tom Brady is getting extra respect from the officials? We aren't seeing it in more flags for his opponents. Tampa Bay tied for last in the league in how often the opponent drew a penalty, and the Bucs were also dead last with just 635 opposition penalty yards.

Numbers don't lie. And those numbers prove without a doubt that Brady and Tampa Bay aren't receiving preferential treatment from NFL officials.

I guess losing to the Bucs is just a hard pill to swallow for some fans. So instead of accepting it, they have to come up with wild conspiracies to explain why they lost to the greatest quarterback of all time.
