The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are slogging their way through the preseason at 0-2, but the final matchup against the Miami Dolphins should provide a nice little spark as the preseason wraps up.

That's because the plan is for the vast majority of the Bucs' starters, if not all of them, to play on Friday night against the Dolphins. At least, that's what Bucs head coach Todd Bowles suggested a couple of weeks ago.

Either way, the game kicks off at 7:30 p.m. ET on Friday, August 23 and per 506sports, it will be broadcasted on the following TV channels and Chris Meyers and Ronde Barber will be on the call:

  • WFLA (NBC/8 – Tampa)
  • WESH (NBC/2 – Orlando)
  • WOGX (FOX/51 – Gainesville)
  • WMBB (ABC/13 – Panama City)
  • WXCW (CW/6 – Fort Myers)
  • WKRG (CBS/5 – Mobile AL)

In Miami, it'll be Steve Goldstein and Kim Bokamper on the call:

  • WFOR (CBS/4 – Miami)
  • WPTV (NBC/5 – West Palm Beach)
  • WINK (CBS/11 – Fort Myers)
  • KHON (CW/2.2 – Honolulu)

Streaming-wise, in-market fans can catch the game on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers app or on Buccaneers.com, as well as NFL+, Paramount Plus, and if you get local channels through whatever streaming service in use. Out-of-market fans can also catch the game on NFL+, which has become a godsend, basically, for this time of year.

As mentioned earlier, it hasn't been very pretty for the Bucs, so far, outside a couple of areas/players. It obviously doesn't mean anything when it comes to regular season aspirations, but at the same time, it's always nice to see a team gel and vibe well during the preseason.

The Bucs return to practice on Monday and Tuesday before holding a joint session with the Dolphins on Wednesday. Both teams will then take Thursday off before Friday's kickoff. It remains to be seen what the plan for the Dolphins' starters is, but Tua Tagovailoa, along with other starters on both offense and defense, played in Week 2 against the Washington Commanders, so there's definitely a chance they'll play against the Bucs.

But even if that doesn't happen, we'll get a good glimpse of things from Wednesday's joint practice. No matter what, we'll get a solid evaluation of where the Bucs' starters stack up against a team many are considering a Super Bowl contender.

And then, we are just a little more than two weeks away from opening day against the Commanders.
