CBS Sports believes a veteran free agent tight end would be a great fit for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Tyler Sullivan, an NFL writer for CBS Sports, listed tight end Blake Jarwin as an ideal fit for Tampa Bay.

From CBS Sports:

It wasn't too long ago when Blake Jarwin was in line to be the TE1 for the Cowboys. However, injuries took the 27-year-old off that path, and he would later fall behind Dalton Schultz on Dallas' depth chart. A pairing with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers would not only give Jarwin a fresh start, but he'd also be able to compete to be the club's starting tight end. This offseason, the Bucs saw O.J. Howard sign with the Buffalo Bills and Rob Gronkowski retire, leaving Cameron Brate as the only viable tight end on the roster. Tom Brady has utilized the tight end position a great deal, so it'd behoove Tampa Bay to bolster that spot before camp. Jarwin comes with plenty of upside.

There's no doubt Tampa Bay needs to add a tight end to the roster.

Jarwin would be an interesting addition for the Buccaneers. He looked like he was on the verge of a breakout season in 2020 after catching 31 passes for 365 yards and three touchdowns in 2019. Unfortunately for Jarwin, injuries have limited him to only nine games over the last two years.

A one-year "prove it deal" would make sense for both sides. The Bucs need the depth and Jarwin needs to prove he can stay healthy. If it works out and he has a good year, Tampa Bay could work out an extension after the season. It would be a low-risk/high-reward type move.
