This should come as a surprise to absolutely no one, but Rob Gronkowski had a very "Gronk-like" reaction to Tom Brady's retirement on Wednesday.
Brady, who spent the last three seasons with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, announced his retirement on Wednesday morning via a video on his social media accounts.
This is Brady's first retirement announcement since his last retirement announcement on February 1, 2022.
Gronk responded to Brady's retirement later on Wednesday via an Instagram post.
"Tommy, since I already wrote you a long retirement message last year, this time I shall say, welcome to the 2x retired club," wrote Gronkowski. "You’re a legend and you always will be, my friend."
Gronk, like Brady now, has retired twice from the NFL (first after the 2018 season and then after the 2021 season).
In total, Gronkowski played 11 seasons with Brady (nine seasons with the New England Patriots and two seasons with the Bucs). The duo won four Super Bowls together (three with the Patriots and one with Tampa Bay).
You never say never, but it's hard to see either of these guys playing in the NFL again. It feels like goodbye is for real this time.
