Rob Gronkowski is out living life right now while he figures out if he wants to keep playing professional football. One of his recent forays was an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live! over the weekend and of course, it turned out to be a fun interview.

One of the highlights of Gronk's conversation with Kimmel was when he took a jab at his former team, the New England Patriots.

Gronkowski was discussing how the Buccaneers helped him reach one of his contract incentives during the season finale against the Panthers. The Bucs included an extra $1 million in his contract for 55 receptions on the year and he was seven catches shy of hitting that mark.

Tom Brady -with the help of Bruce Arians- fed Gronk the ball throughout the game until he reached his mark. And Gronkowski walked away with an extra millie in his pocket, after.

It was pretty cool for the Bucs to do that and they did it the year before with Antonio Brown, as well.

But according to Gronkowski, not every team is willing to do that. Especially the Patriots.

"Yes, I've seen it before, actually," Gronkowski said when Kimmel asked if he'd seen a team help a player like that before. "Not with the Patriots, though. They'll probably pull you before you hit that bonus there."

"I shouldn't have said that," Gronk said jokingly after.

Gronkowski obviously knows how the Patriots operate after playing for them from 2010-2018. And on the outside, we've seen the Patriots trade or even release good players strictly for monetary reasons.

They do seem rather, um, cheap, at the end of the day. But that's only outside perception.

Either way, the joke landed. And Gronkowski also managed to tie in a compliment for the Buccaneers.

"With the Bucs, I mean, they're down for the players to collect all the money they possibly can, which is great."
