The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have a lot of people questioning their takes from the past few months.

As a Bucs fan, there isn't a whole lot that we get that is more fun than watching people doubt this team and then have to backtrack on their takes.

Peter King is one of the most recent prominent writers to have to admit that he was wrong about Tampa.

King was obviously not malicious. It is more than fair to think that a team will get worse after firing its offensive coordinator, losing Tom Brady, and losing several key players on the offense to major injuries.

It was a more than fair prediction, but ultimately it was wrong.

As King goes on to say in a very humble way, he, like many in the NFL world, was wrong about the Buccaneers and Baker Mayfield.

King had the following to say about Baker Mayfield and the Bucs:

"What a great start for Mayfield, playing for his fourth team in the last 21 months. No quarterback is his peer through two weeks on third downs (20 of 23 for 201 yards and three touchdowns). So much for geniuses like me who thought the Bucs would be in for a total rebuild this year."

King is absolutely right. Mayfield has been excellent, even playing better than Tom Brady at some points from last year, and a huge part of that comes from Dave Canales as the OC in Tampa.

In addition to eating crow on this take, King went even further on giving the Buccaneers their flowers by listing them at tenth in the NFL in his weekly power rankings, a decision that was backed up by Tampa's incredible defensive performances and safe, effective offensive play.

In a world without Tom Brady, many wondered if the Bucs were going to slip back into obscurity. However, acknowledgements like this will continue to show that the Buccaneers aren't going anywhere just yet.
