The final score may not show it, but the Tampa Bay Buccaneers just demolished the Chicago Bears in their Week 2 matchup, and in doing so just moved to 2-0 on the year.

That isn't a bad start for a team that many expected to be the worst in the NFC South this season.

Looking at the game with a bit of hindsight, here are the biggest takeaways from the second win of the season:

1. This defense is terrifying

There is no way to get around this fact. The Bucs might have the second-best defense in the NFL as of today.

The depth may not be great, but Tampa is able to get bodies after the quarterback, clog up run lanes, and blanket defenders with better efficiency than most teams in the NFL.

Injuries could surely slow this unit down, but the start of the year has shown the team dealing well with unique offensive weapons.

Hopefully that is a sign of more to come.

2. Baker Mayfield deserves to keep the starting job

As if there was much of a question after Week 1. Mayfield may have looked shaky during his first half as a Buccaneer, but all of that is in the past now.

Mayfield was stifled a bit due to some conservative play-calling in the second half, but he commanded the offense well and made plays when they counted to end the game with 317 yards and a touchdown on 76% completion.

Let this guy Bake.

3. The offensive line needs to be better

This may seem like a nitpick, especially when you see that Tampa surrendered no sacks to the Bears, but a huge part of that was due to the fact that Mayfield was able to make some impressive plays when under pressure.

The line can't be as props as it has been over the first two weeks if Mayfield is going to find a rhythm and keep those impressive deep balls coming.

4. The run game is better, just not fixed

The run game looked a little better in Week 2, but not by all that much. Rachaad White had a pretty effective game as a runner and as a receiver, but it is obvious watching this game for a minute that even greater heights could be reached in this element of the game with just a few changes.
