The Tampa Bay Buccaneers haven't been one of the more active teams in using the franchise tag over the years.  In their history, they have used the tag only six total times on five players.  

However, they've used it more over the last five years than they have before to keep a number of important pieces in town that contributed to their Super Bowl LV championship run.  

Here's the list of players that the Bucs have used the franchise tag on over the years.

Chris Godwin

The Bucs actually tagged Godwin in back-to-back years in March 2021 and 2022.  Godwin signed the 2021 tag at $15.983 million.  He ultimately signed a three-year, $60 million deal after getting tagged the second time.  

Shaquil Barrett

The Bucs tagged Barrett in March 2020.  Barrett ultimately signed the tag for $15.828 million.  

Donovan Smith

The Buccaneers’ left tackle received the tag on March 4, 2019.  He ended up signing a three-year, $41.25 million deal with the team the next day. 

Connor Barth

Barth received the tag on March 4, 2012.  He ended up signing a four-year, $13.2 million deal with the Bucs on May 17, 2012. 

Antonio Bryant

The Bucs tagged their veteran wide receiver on February 18, 2009.  Bryant signed the tag to the tune of $9.884 million.
