There have been a lot of ridiculous rumors this offseason floating around about Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady. But the rumor that started on Thursday might be the most ridiculous one yet.

NESN's Dale Arnold, who first reported that Brady to Tampa was a done deal a couple of years ago, tweeted on Thursday that he doesn't think the legendary quarterback will play for the Buccaneers in 2022.

Instead, Arnold thinks Brady will play for the Miami Dolphins.

If this feels like it's completely out of left field, that's because it is.

And there are several reasons why even the idea of this is completely absurd.

For starters, if Brady was going to play for a franchise other than the Bucs, it would require him forcing a trade. That would be a terrible look for Brady after announcing his return to Tampa and getting an entire fan base excited. I just can't see Brady doing that.

Another reason this is silly is because Brady has already been recruiting players to the Buccaneers this offseason. Once he decided he was un-retiring and returning to Tampa, he started working the phones to get key players (like center Ryan Jensen) to re-sign with the Bucs.

Why would Brady leave a franchise that was two wins away from the Super Bowl for a franchise breaking in a new head coach? Especially after helping assemble the Bucs' roster this offseason?

It doesn't make a bit of sense. And it's not happening. Dolphins fans shouldn't get their hopes up.

Even Pro Football Talk's Mike Florio, who was pushing the Brady to the 49ers narrative, thinks it's a stretch.

That should tell Bucs fans all they need to know. Brady is a Buc now and he will be when the 2022 season gets underway this fall.
